About Cottonwood
Cottonwood developed as a supply and agricultural center for the Verde Valley's mining and ranching communities in the early 1900s, taking its name from the cottonwood trees lining the nearby Verde River. Today its historic Old Town district anchors a growing wine country built on the valley's fertile soil, while the town's central location makes it a convenient base for visiting nearby Tuzigoot National Monument, Jerome, and the wider Verde Valley.
